Today both nurseries came together to go on a short walk to visit Litherland’s nativity scene on the corner of Church Road. The children were really sensible crossing roads and looking around their local environment. They waved and smiled as people passed us and were excited to spot a police car…

Year 1- Design & Technology

We have been learning about the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy.  We have looked at different methods of joining- slots, flaps and flanges. We then designed our own amazing towers. We will build our towers this week in class. 

On Friday, the children enjoyed a Santa dash around the playground in their Christmas jumpers.

Ho ho ho!  We have been very busy on our Santa Dash today!

Year 5 have been exploring printmaking.

After looking at the work of Andy Warhol, the children designed their own stencil based around a Christmas theme.

We are going to use our stencils to create wonderful Christmas cards.

Year 1- Christmas Assembly 

A huge thank you to everyone who made our Year 1 Christmas Assembly such a special event. The children put in so much effort and enthusiasm, and it was truly heartwarming to see their joy and excitement shine through as they performed. Well done year 1!

How can we stop a tower from toppling over? The children have used various resources to make towers in class this afternoon. We talked about the size of the base and how to make it balance.

The children explored the life of Galileo Galilei.

They discovered he was one of the first scientists to explain how the Solar System revolve around the sun.

Also, how his discoveries and improvements with the telescope helped our understanding of the universe.

Children from the gardening club and nursery came together today to plant Spring bulbs together and enjoy our woodland area.  The teamwork was a joy to see.  Well done children!

Today was the big day for Reception’s Nativity.  The children all performed brilliantly and we are very proud of them all. The singing raised the roof and the acting was outstanding. Especially well done to everyone who had lines to say.

We use our phonics knowledge to help us make and read words independently.  

Such lovely afternoons spent with our friends reading books and enjoying each others company.  #specialtimes
