Eco Council met with Mr Dinsdale to take a vote on the name for the soon to be launched community based litter picking group, organised in conjunction with Sefton Council. The idea for this litter picking group has come along as a result of Mr Dinsdale sharing the Social Signature project with the governors and PTA members within school. Members of the PTA decided to join forces with the council to see if they could coordinate efforts with the area local to school out in the community.
The short list of names was:
- English Martyrs Tidy Team
- English Martyrs Clean Up Crew
- English Martyrs Helping Hands
- English Martyrs Green Sweepers
- English Martyrs Green Guardians
- English Martyrs Tidy Tracks
- Mighty Martyrs Clean Up Crew
- Marvellous Martyrs Cleaning Crew
- English Martyrs Litter Lifters
- English Martyrs Clean Sweep
- English Martyrs Eco Warriors
There was a tie for the winning name between English Martyrs Green Guardians and English Martyrs Eco Warriors. The Eco Council took the two names to their classes to do a show of hands vote and the results were a convincing win for the name: English Martyrs Eco Warriors!
