In Reception we have been learning a poem all about mini beasts.  This afternoon we went into the hall and performed it for the All Day Nursery children.  Reception have worked really hard on their ‘Poetry Voices’ and Nursery loved listening to it.  Well done Reception! Great Performance.…

Following on from our poetry work on minibeasts, the children are using resources indoors to make their own minbeast habitats.   They have worked together and were so proud of their creation.  They spent a considerable amount of time playing once it was built.  

Today we have been talking about being made welcome.  We went over to church and re enacted a baptism and discussed being welcome in the Church’s family.

This week we are looking at poetry around mini beasts

and as part of our work we all going on a mini beast hunt.  The children have loved being in the garden and searching for all the places that the little beasts may be hiding.  We have been learning some new vocabulary related to mini…

We have been enjoying the autumnal sunshine this morning in the garden. The children have loved exploring, we have found lots of lady birds!  We had a campfire with cake and songs.

Using the natural objects around us the children are using tools to practise their pre writing skills. 

We have been learning to pray in school.  The children have been practising the sign of the cross and spending special time talking to God.  Sometimes they choose to spend a little time saying a private prayer at our special RE table.  

We enjoy lots of healthy snack in Reception.  Today we were trying a garlic dip with breadstick and fruit.  It was delicious! 

Every day we practise our motor skills by doing different activities.  This week we are threading small beads onto pipe cleaners, this takes a lot of concentration and dexterity.  

Working together to build a zoo!

The children are learning to share their toys and resources with lots of other children.  They are learning how to resolve conflicts when things do not go their way or they have to wait to use a toy.  We are very proud of how well they are doing. 

The children are loving exploring the water tray. Lots of language opportunities as they play.
