Our young writers have been exploring the world of tigers through poetry. We began by developing our vocabulary, sorting a range of descriptive words into three categories: movement, appearance and behaviour. Next, we used our vocabulary to create descriptive phrases about tigers, experimenting with words to bring these magnificent animals to life.

Today, the children worked collaboratively in groups to put their ideas together and create their own tiger poetry. They showed great creativity, teamwork and imagination as they crafted their poems before performing them to the rest of the group.

We were so impressed with their fantastic ideas, expressive performances and growing confidence as young poets.
