Who lives in a house like this?
As part of our Communication and Language work, we have been reading the book Home by Carson Ellis. The children have been building different homes within the nursery provision. They have produced some fantastic creations.
Nursery Making Mud Soup
The children have been working together in the mud kitchen making mud soup using our natural resources.
Nursery Learning Outdoors
The children have had lots of fun playing and exploring outdoors. In music we have been learning about percussion instruments so the children wanted to hear the sounds the tractor tyre could make. They have also been using the trees to play hide and seek.
Musical Moments
The children have enjoyed exploring different sounds on our new music wall that the children created together this week. We listened to the sounds the wooden items made when hit and described how they are different to the sounds created by striking metal objects.
Nature Art
This week we are learning about the work of Andy Goldsworthy known as Nature’s Artist. Inspired by his work we have been using a variety of natural materials to create faces and patterns.
Orienteering Outdoors
This morning the children worked with Enrich Education to find the different animal markers around our school. We enjoyed making the various animal noises and talking about where we would find these animals in our environment.
Autumn Fun
The children in nursery have been learning about autumn and have collected lots of autumnal treasures. We have had fun outdoors looking for more signs of autumn, finding mini-beasts, dancing in the wind with our scarves and reading in the sunshine.
Nursery Walk
In RE we have been thanking God for our wonderful world. This week we went for a walk around our school and talked about what we could see.
Rain doesn’t stop play!
The children in Nursery A have been trying out our new waterproofs today. So much fun!
All Aboard!
Look at the train we made in nursery this week using brilliant teamwork skills and language to create this collaborative masterpiece! Well done children!
Bird spotting in Nursery A
Some of the children have been keen to find out about the different birds they might see in the nursery garden.
Snack Time in Nursery A
Here are some of our nursery children enjoying snack together. Snack time in nursery invites us to turn take, communicate, listen and sometimes try different foods. We develop independence by choosing our own snack and by washing up our own plates and cups when we have finished.
