As part of our RE topic ‘Prophecy and Promise’, the children listened to the story of The Annunciation and then worked in pairs to role play it.

Christmas preparation is in full swing in Reception.  We are slowly working our way through costumes for our Nativity play.  Watch out for any lines in book bags this week.  

We welcomed Justine from CAFOD to speak to all of the children about World Gifts today.

She came and talked about the work of CAFOD, what World Gifts are and how we can help in the work of CAFOD this advent season.

Year 1- Prayer cards

We have been learning the Hail Mary in Year 1. The children have decorated a prayer card to take home to remind them to pray for Mary. 

In RE we have been thanking God for our wonderful world. This week we went for a walk around our school and talked about what we could see.

Creation and Covenant

We have been learning about the Creation Story in Year 1. We talked about all the wonderful things God created to make our wonderful world. The children drew all that they love in God’s world.

After reading God’s Rainbow we thought about all our actions that harm God’s world. We talked about how we can turn over a new leaf and put them right. 

This week we have been invited to join our hands and close our eyes when we pray.  We have been learning to make the sign of the cross.  

As a class we talked about the similarities and differences between talents and qualities.

We then thought about the qualities of our friends and what they are good at.

We realised how others see us and how we don’t always recognise our own qualities.

Y2 enjoyed making puppets and retelling the story of Noah and his Ark.

We welcomed CAFOD volunteers to lead workshops on the principles of Catholic Social Teaching across school from Reception to Year 5.
It was really informative and helped us to better understand how we can make a difference in the world.
