We were very lucky today.  After our shared Harvest Assembly we had a very special visitor to our classes.  Fr Anthony came into our assembly and read a special story to us.  We were so excited to finally meet our new priest and were thrilled that he read a lovely story for us.

With Halloween so close lots of children in Reception have been visiting the pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins for their homes.  You can also pick corn on the cob and we were lucky enough talk about this in our Harvest assembly this morning.  Thank you for sharing!

Over the past few weeks we have been learning about and experiencing God’s wonderful world in a variety of ways.  We have draw God’s world on a big frieze, been on a walk to look at the beauty of God’s creation and have painted aspects of God’s world in small groups.  We have been thinking about…

Nursery B have been learning about Harvest and thanking God for our wonderful world and everything in it. We have been talking about our farmers and the crops they grow. The children then continued their learning and set up vegetable patches and shops in Nursery where they could buy their fruits…

Today we have been talking about being made welcome.  We went over to church and re enacted a baptism and discussed being welcome in the Church’s family.

We have been learning to pray in school.  The children have been practising the sign of the cross and spending special time talking to God.  Sometimes they choose to spend a little time saying a private prayer at our special RE table.  

Reception went on a lovely walk around the school looking at all the wonderful features God has created. We looked at the plants, trees, birds and sky. 

We have spent time learning the sign of the cross prayer in nursery as part of our prayers and learning in RE. The children have also been very busy learning their morning, lunchtime and home time prayers both in school and at home.  

The children enjoyed their daily collective worship today by gathering together and taking part in tactile prayer. Tactile prayer such as gentle colouring has a soothing quality that promotes a sense of stillness, creating the conditions for a more reflective and receptive prayer experience.…
