Building relationships
Sometimes its just the quiet moments of building a shared structure that can encourage such lovely friendships. The language, smiles and co operation that takes place fosters positive relationships and gives each child a sense of belonging.
Shapes
Today we have looked at 2D shapes. The children identified the shapes and then went into provision to find them. We discussed not being able to pick up a 2D shape and that we would need to draw round these for them to be a true circle or triangle.
‘We Remember’ 11 November 2025
Today we remembered the brave soldiers who fought in the wars. The children watched a CBeebies animation that sees war as experienced by animals in a field. The children have also loved making their own poppies using playdoh and buttons and pastels.

Pumpkin fine motor
After lots of discussion and interest about pumpkins over the last few weeks, the children have been using pumpkins to put their fine motor skills to the test! We have used hammers to carefully hammer golf tees into pumpkins!
Reception Rock Stars
What fabulous costumes. The children have loved dressing up as rock stars today. We have had a parade and danced to some of our favourite tunes! Well done to everyone for taking part.
Poem performance

Diwali
This morning we have been learning about Diwali or the ‘Festival of Lights’ The children were very interested to hear how this is celebrated and we are going to be making our very own diva pots in class.
Patterns
This week we will be investigating patterns. We started off by reading the story ‘My Mum and Dad Make Me Laugh’ by Nick Sharratt. The children loved looking for the spots and stripes in the book. We then went to activities and explored further by making our own patterns.
