After Mrs McIntyre using small world figures to act out the story of Palm Sunday in class, many children chose to recreate the story in their play. One child described her gathering of the crowd like a ‘parade’ and the children told the story singing ‘Hosanna, pretending to wave palm leaves at Jesus’, Through discussion we were able to check understanding and add detail to the children’s retells.
