Perfecting Patterns
This week we have been revisiting patterns in class. We have been making patterns and deciding what the repeat is for each pattern.. The children then went into provision and then made their own patterns.
Classroom Prayer
We are enjoying our special time spent together each day in prayer. The children choose items to set up a focus area before we spend time together.
Farewell Butterflies
We were very excited when we came into school today and noticed that our caterpillars had hatched out of their chrysalis' into beautiful butterflies. After lunch we all went into the garden to set them free and watched as they flew away.
Supertato Traps
Today we received a letter from some very evil peas who were on the loose in our classrooms. We decided to design a trap to catch them and asked the children to come up with their own ideas and to make them in the classroom. The children loved this activity and rushed to provision to have a go…
Sports Day Practise
Today we practised for our sports day. The children had lots of fun taking part in all the races. Let’s pray the weather is kind to us next week when we all take part for real!
Printing in Reception
We have been using vegetable to explore texture and print this week. The children have mixed colours and appparatus to create their own pictures using vegetables to print from.
Supertato
Our new book for this half term is ‘Supertato’. The children have already enjoyed freeing some naughty peas from ice! We are expecting chaos to ensue!!
Super Sharing
This week we have read the book ‘The Doorbell Rang’ we related it to sharing biscuits. The children were really good at making sure that they shared the biscuits fairly!!
Curious and Creative.
What do you do when you need a ruler to measure something? Make one of course! Great number work.
Farm Day 3
Another lovely day! The children had a ball and were so good. We completed all the usual activities and the children particularly enjoyed feeding all of the animals.

Another great day at the farm. We managed to squeeze in so much. Feeding lambs, goats, sheep and a cow. We met lots of different critters and were all very brave holding and stroking them. The children enjoyed a packed lunch before going on a train ride. A quick play in the park and it was…
Fighting Germs One Hand Wash at a Time
We have looked at the effect of using soap has on keeping our hands free of germs.. It was so interesting to see the children’s reactions to the pepper moving away from the clean hands.
