Our pirate adventure in nursery began on Monday afternoon when we went on a treasure hunt outside and followed clues to find hidden treasure. We used a treasure map of our outdoor area and listened to clues using positional and directional language and following a route. On our journey we found pirate coins and eventually we were led to a treasure box hidden beneath the nursery bench. The box contained jewels, a pirate hook, an eye patch, pirate scarf and our new book for this half term - The Pirates are Coming! The excitement of the children was palpable.
